What exactly happens in a Friendly Pension Briefing?
A Briefing is an informal, educational session — usually lasting around two hours — where we walk through the general structure of pension statements and retirement documents page by page. We focus on explaining what sections typically mean, the common terminology used and how information is usually laid out. No personal advice is given. Attendees leave with a short printed summary to keep.
Do I need any prior knowledge to attend?
No background knowledge is needed at all. Our sessions start from the very basics and build up gently. Many participants have said they felt nervous beforehand and left feeling surprised at how straightforward things turned out to be. Bring your curiosity — we take care of the rest.
Will you look at my personal documents during a session?
During group Briefings we use sample and generic documents as teaching materials, so your personal papers remain private. For the Personal Paperwork Organising service, we do work directly with your own records in your home to help you set up a filing and labelling system — but we do not read or comment on the content of those documents beyond what is needed to organise them physically.
How long does the Paperwork Organising service take?
It depends on how many documents you have and how they are currently stored. A typical home visit takes between three and five hours. We schedule at a time that is convenient for you, and we can split the work across more than one visit if that feels more comfortable.
What is the Community Membership and how often do you meet?
The Community Membership is an ongoing arrangement giving you access to monthly group meetings, a private online discussion space and a library of updated plain-language guides. Meetings are relaxed and conversational — they are not lectures. There is no commitment to attend every session, and membership continues on a rolling basis.
Are your sessions available in Thai as well as English?
Our primary delivery language is English, as many of our participants are international residents or retirees in the Khon Kaen area. We can accommodate basic bilingual support where helpful. Please mention any language preferences when you get in touch and we will do our best to assist.
How do I pay and what is the refund arrangement?
Payment is accepted by bank transfer prior to the session. If you need to reschedule at least 48 hours in advance, we are happy to arrange an alternative date. Please see our Terms & Conditions for the full details or contact us directly if you have any specific questions.
